Acorn Jewellery/Mock ups
Accepting change is the realization
of the constancy, the permanence and impermanence of the seasons. When the
mighty oak drops its acorns this is an indicator of summer's end as well as a marker of the harvest season. Held in these seeds is the DNA of the next generation. The
impermanence is the fluctuation of seasons, the permanence is the
knowing these will occur again, year after year.
For the wearer of these pieces there is the knowing that the sterling may remain beyond the material offered by the mighty oak.

Mock up: Fresh Acorn Nuts Earrings.
Mock up: Preemie Acorn Nut Earrings.
These mock up earrings were inspired by a 'Maker Challenge' theme of 'permanence and impermanence'. I used real sterling and nuts, but the earrings won't last - the green turned auburn and the acorn caps (cupule) are somewhat fragile.
