Thank-you to everyone who was involved with last weekend's Somerset Christmas Craft Fair at a local elementary school. It was an incredible event with so many students, staff and volunteers supporting crafters, artists, and small businesses vending their products. The weekend helped raise funds for school programs and was a excellent start to some holiday and winter cheer. Thank-you to everyone who purchased handmade items by me. It was a delight to be there to meet fellow vendors and you!

This coming week I will be in the city Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Halifax Crafter's Winter Market - 20th Anniversary. It is free to attend and there are over 80 amazing vendors. Come and say hello and find something special from a local maker.

Solid Sterling Silver Earrings: Water Series.

Gearing up for the holiday season I have been busy in the studio. These pieces feature closed hook earrings and a delicate yet durable sterling chain for the pendant. The design is part of my ongoing meditation on water and the reflection of light - always playing with precious metal surfaces to create a little extra sparkle to shine.

Thursday October 17th, 3-7pm is the last Kingston Farmers Market of the season - come out and say hello!

2 silver cast rings, 2 blue wax cast rings, drawing of chickens on paper, 1 yellow mould. 2 finished rings: Gold and Sterling Rough Cut Concave wedding bands.

How are those made?

I make an original ring either out of wax or silver and then I have it sent to a casting house for a mould to be made. Once I have a decent mould I can have more castings made of the same piece, or have more waxes that will later be used to make custom sizes. It all sounds simple, but I assure you cleaning up each piece is labour of focus and love. Each cast is slightly different and can require different clean up tools. The rings can then be stamped and polished.

I will be vending at the Kingston Farmers Market October 10th & 17th, 3-7pm.

Thank-you to everyone who visited my booth at the Kingston Farmers Market this summer! It is always a delight to vend at this local weekly event. I will not be at the next few markets, as I am getting ready for busy fall season. If you had a favourite in mind and cannot wait until October send me a message and I will let you know what I have in stock!

I will be back at the KFM for the last few markets of the season.

Rough cut square ring and rough cut slim.
Two rings from my Rough Cut series and summer flowers in a vase. This time of year is all about fresh cut flowers, herbs, harvesting, and making! I will be vending Thursday August 29th at the Kingston Farmers Market NS. This week the workshop is bound to be a lot of pretty fun - flower hammering! I was fully impressed with the results of everyone who participated last year.
